Chris Catalano is a composer of sacred music, a great deal of which is used in Catholic worship services. After obtaining a Bachelors Degree in Theology from St. John’s University, Queens, New York in 1989, Chris went on to receive a Masters Degree in Composition from the Aaron Copland School of Music in Queens, New York.
With over two hundred pieces of sacred music to his credit, Chris continues to use his gifts and talents each day as a music teacher in Long Island, New York, a job he has enjoyed for nearly 30 years. He has served as Music Director in parishes for the Diocese of Rockville Centre and continues his work in music ministry every Sunday in his home parish. He is also an adjunct music professor at Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY.
Chris has recorded 11 albums to date. He has given a large number of concerts, and evenings of reflection and prayer. Many of the concerts he has given have been benefit concerts, raising money for those in need. He has also served the Diocese of Rockville Centre in various musical ways, in particular in the area of bereavement ministry. He is most excited to continue his ministry as he branches out in new and exciting ways.
